Sources close to the couple claim Ashanti is pregnant again and expecting her second child with Nelly, according to The Jasmine Brand. If these reports are accurate, we truly love to see it! The site didn’t reveal more details, like how far along she might be, so we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from the R&B baddie herself.
When the lovebirds rekindled their early 2000s romance, they didn’t waste any time on their new life together. As BOSSIP previously reported, the Ashanti and Nelly coupledom conjecture started again last year, nearly a decade after she revealed Nelly was her first love. Shortly after fueling reunion rumors with a little PDA in April 2023, the old flames confirmed expecting their first child last December. Nelly and Ashanti also secretly tied the knot that same month.
They might be on that same type of time when it comes to expanding their family with another baby blessing. In July, Ashanti gave birth to their first child together, baby boy Kareem Kenkaide Haynes.
“Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time.. lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings!” she wrote, appreciating her body one month postpartum. ” I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, boy.”
She gushed about her long-awaited motherhood in an interview with ET:
“It’s just an immense feeling. When I look in his eyes, or when I pick him up and I kiss him, it’s an overwhelming feeling of love and admiration and giving. This little boy has my entire soul wrapped around his finger,” she previously said.

Of course, sharing the journey with Nelly after all these years really meant the world to her.
“Just all of these emotions happening at one time, just knowing that this is your person, this is your purpose, this is what it’s supposed to be, and the three of us together — we were all able to hold each other. It was incredible to watch just how confident and gentle and how soothing he is with his son,” she continued. “It was just an amazing, incredible feeling.”
