Thomas Ravenel asked fans to help him get a judge to unseal court records so “everyone can see the truth” about his ex Kathryn Dennis. Though Kathryn and Thomas are no longer on Bravo’s Southern Charm, their names continue to hit headlines.
According to Taste of Reality, Kathryn lost custody of their two kids in 2016 after she tested positive for cannabis. She then went to rehab. Two years later, Kathryn sought primary custody after Thomas was reportedly arrested for assault. In 2019, they agreed to have joint custody, though Thomas kept primary custody. Two years after that, Kathryn allegedly lost temporary custody but was given supervised weekend visits. In 2023, Thomas got full custody.
“Everyone thinks that I’m a horrible person and that [Kathryn] is a wonderful mom,” wrote Thomas on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a recent post. “[They think] I got sole custody because I paid off the judges and the family court system is corrupt.”
“If you truly believe these lies, please comment below so I can show the judge and get the records unsealed so everyone can see the truth,” he declared, via the outlet.
In a 2021 Instagram post, Kathryn called out the family court system after Thomas moved to Aiken, South Carolina with the kids.
“It is exhausting to constantly defend yourself against someone who is trying to change reality – it can even make you question what you know happened, or what is true,” said the quote she posted at the time.
“It can be exhausting to live two lives: one for your children and one for the world (everything is fine) and the other, where you are beaten down by the family court system. We see you and we stand with you. You are not alone,” the quote concluded.
Earlier that year, Kathryn expressed on Twitter: “I need to scream this so I’m going on Twitter, it’s a shame what some lawyers are willing to do. Can anyone relate?”
“It’s time to start advocating for the people who get manipulated by the legal system,” the star added. “And against those who use the legal system to manipulate.”
