Brianna LaPaglia claimed that her relationship with Zach Bryan led to the end of one of her closest friendships.
LaPaglia, 25, revealed on an episode of the BFFs podcast — released Wednesday, December 11 — that she and her former best friend, Grace O’Malley, are no longer in touch. LaPaglia co-hosts the podcast with Josh Richards and Dave Portnoy.

LaPaglia and O’Malley, 26, previously co-hosted the podcast PlanBri Uncut, on which the two exchanged stories about navigating their 20s.
“I’m always gonna have love for Grace [and] will always cherish everything that we did with PlanBri,” LaPaglia told Portnoy and Richards.
According to LaPaglia, her and O’Malley’s friendship began to fall out as LaPaglia and Bryan’s relationship heated up. LaPaglia said that O’Malley wouldn’t come to her defense when people would slander her online, despite knowing of the alleged emotional abuse she was enduring.
“She knew everything behind the scenes,” LaPaglia said. “When the internet started attacking me, they only lifted Grace up when they were beating me down. And it was, like, whatever, because it helped her career and she was fine and happy about it. But it got to a point where she was never defending me.”
LaPaglia also detailed a time when she confronted O’Malley about her inaction.
“I went to her in May, and I was like, ‘Grace, you know everything that I’m going through and you still refuse to defend me online because it helps build you up,’” LaPaglia said. “She would always be, like, ‘Well I know the truth. Everyone knows that we’re best friends and everything you’ve done for me.’ So I’m, like, ‘Why don’t you f**king say that online and stop feeding into this narrative.”
The two ultimately ended PlanBri this past October, shortly before Bryan announced his and LaPaglia’s breakup. In the latest BFFs episode, LaPaglia said she has no regrets, but for the time being, she had to distance herself from her former best friend.
“We’re sitting there, pretending to be friends and I didn’t feel seen by her [so I] set a boundary,” she said. “I gave her everything and I would do it all over again.”
