Earlier this year, it was announced that Paul Rudd and Jack Black would be starring in a comedic reimagining of the creature feature, Anaconda.
They recently released a video amusingly announcing that the film will be released on December 25th, 2025. Yes, Anaconda is going to hit theaters on Christmas!
The new story involves “a group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes and violent criminals.”
One of the actors would play an “erstwhile director, a man stuck in his job as a wedding videographer”, while the other would play an actor who did a stint on a cop show but sees his Hollywood dreams slipping further and further away.”
The film is being produced by Columbia Pictures and directed by Tom Gormican from a script he co-wrote Kevin Etten. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing the film.
