Bronx, New York rapper Fat Joe is coming under serious fire after slamming author, producer, and commentator Tariq Nasheed, commentator, rapper, DJ, and producer Lord Jamar, and the FBA (Foundational Black Americans); and for also calling them “broke” and “radical Black racists” after disagreeing with theories of who really created Hip-Hop and Rap.

The term FBA (Foundational Black Americans) has been seemingly coined and pushed by Tariq Nasheed, and according to the Official FBA website, it refers to “the descendants of the Black people who survived one the greatest atrocities in recorded history-American slavery. FBA are the descendants of the Black people who built the United States from scratch.”

According to recent reports, Fat Joe, who’s of Puerto Rican descent, recently took shots at the FBA (Foundational Black Americans), along with Tariq Nasheed and another commentator, Lord Jamar — apparently following the release of their documentary, ‘Microphone Check: Hidden History of Hip Hop,’ which featured Hip-Hop pioneer Grandmaster Caz.

The documentary notably challenged the narratives of who started Hip-Hop and Rap (Blacks and/or Latinos, which New York boroughs, which individuals, etc.), stirring up controversy and resulting in Fat Joe firing off during an episode of Math Hoffa’s ‘My Expert Opinion’ podcast. Joe fired off that it was both Blacks and Latinos that created Hip-Hop, which has been challenged in the documentary and by other public figures.

During his sit-down with Math Hoffa, Fat Joe slammed the FBA (Foundational Black Americans), Tariq Nasheed, Lord Jamar, and others, calling the organization’s members “broke” and “radical Black racists.”

Responding to the controversy over who started Hip-Hop and Rap, Fat Joe said, “These rumors were made by radical Black racists … It’s a group of these guys that don’t want to hear Jamaican, don’t want to hear Guyanese, don’t want to hear a Black guy that ain’t down with them, right? So, their job is to criticize anybody who don’t look like them or who ain’t Black American?”

The Bronx rapper continued to slam Foundational Black Americans and said, “The FBA, Foundational Black Authority, whoever the f**k these broke n***as is. I’m just keeping it a buck. And their sh*t is to attack everybody on Twitter. You seen the n***a that’s running them? Their leader? You gotta be f***ing kidding me, man. So, they’re trying to change the narrative. They’re not from New York. So, they’re telling a whole ‘nother story.”

Subsequent to his controversial comments, social media immediately began to drag Fat Joe, with some taking up for him and slamming Tariq Nasheed and others like him for allegedly hoodwinking Black people. Joining in on the critical commentary was Lord Jamar who fired back and said Black people should cancel Fat Joe over his comments about him, Tariq Nasheed, and other Foundational Black Americans.
