Fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) have been eagerly awaiting updates on the next season, but recent comments from Andy Cohen have left some cast members, including Melissa Gorga, feeling uneasy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Melissa Gorga didn’t hold back her frustration after hearing that RHONJupdates wouldn’t be coming until 2026. “Oh my God, why? I just heard that. Why? That’s a really long time. Even if I’m a part of it or not a part, that’s a really long time,” she expressed, clearly taken aback by the news.
The delay follows a tumultuous Season 14, where Melissa Gorga and her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice’s ongoing tension resulted in them refusing to film together. This unprecedented move left producers scrambling, as the season became known for its “unfortunate new normal.” The strained relationships between key cast members prompted Bravo to reassess the future of the show.
As the network works to figure out the next steps, Andy Cohen recently admitted that the producers are in “no rush” to finalize decisions and will take their time in shaping the future of the series. Cohen bluntly stated, “You’re not gonna get [an update] for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking.”
While it’s understandable that Bravo might want to take their time, Melissa Gorga worries the extended hiatus could cost the network its audience warning Bravo. “I think he would lose everyone,” she said, referring to the decision to delay the season for so long. The reality star also shared her belief that the network needs to keep familiar faces on the show to maintain viewer interest. “I feel like they need to keep a couple of familiar faces, if you ask me,” she noted.
Melissa made it clear that she didn’t think a long break was necessary unless Bravo was considering a full recasting. “I can see it going so many different ways,” she explained. “But regardless, the cast needs some type of timeframe.” She emphasized the importance of communication, saying, “We have to have news before then.”
With RHONJ being on hold for the time being, it’s unclear when fans can expect the next chapter of the drama-filled series to unfold. But Gorga’s message to Bravo is clear: a delay of this length could have serious consequences.
