Molly Parker stars as the fiercely determined Dr. Amy Larsen, the Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a traumatic brain injury wipes out the last eight years of her memory, Amy finds herself in an unfamiliar life she can’t remember—patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s clashed with, the man she loves, and the heartbreak that caused her to shut people out. With only her estranged 17-year-old daughter—whom she still sees as a 9-year-old—and a few loyal friends to lean on, Amy must navigate this new reality. At the same time, she fights to maintain her career in medicine, despite losing nearly a decade of expertise and experience.

On Call – Prime Video

Launching January 9 on Prime Video, the series stars Troian Bellisario and Brandon Larracuente. On Call is an intense, high-octane police drama that follows the partnership of a rookie and a veteran officer patrolling Long Beach, California. Using a mix of bodycam, dashcam, and cellphone footage to create a gripping cinema verité style, the show offers a raw and thought-provoking look at the complexities and morality of protecting and serving a community.

The Couple Next Door – Starz

Debuting January 26 on CBS, this innovative series reimagines Dr. John Watson, portrayed by Morris Chestnut, as he sets up his own practice dedicated to strange and unusual medical issues following Sherlock Holmes’ death. Set to premiere January 28 on Hulu, this political thriller stars Sterling K. Brown as the head of security for the President of the United States, played by James Marsden. After the President’s assassination, a web of intrigue and espionage unfolds, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

Scamanda – ABC

Launching January 30 on ABC, Scamanda is based on the No. 1 podcast of the same name. It is a gripping new docuseries that unravels the shocking story of Amanda Riley, a California wife, mother, and devout Christian. Amanda’s life appears to take a devastating turn when she’s diagnosed with Stage 3 blood cancer, and she begins documenting her battle online, capturing the hearts of thousands. But behind the facade of inspiration lies a dark secret she’s desperate to keep hidden. Everything changes when an anonymous tip lands in the hands of investigative producer Nancy Moscatiello, sparking a five-year investigation that uncovers the truth. As the story unfolds, Amanda’s own words could become the key to her undoing.

Going Dutch – FOX

Premiering January 2nd on FOX, this single-camera comedy centers on Colonel Patrick Quinn (Denis Leary), a brash and outspoken U.S. Army officer whose unfiltered rant gets him reassigned to the Netherlands as punishment. Now stuck at the most insignificant army base in the world, Quinn trades warzones for a post with no weapons, no tactical mission, and no purpose—except to serve as home to a Michelin Star-level commissary, a luxurious bowling alley, lavender-scented laundry, and the Army’s only gourmet cheese shop. Determined to bring discipline to the base’s quirky crew of misfits, Quinn reluctantly teams up with the base’s former interim leader—who also happens to be his estranged daughter (Taylor Misiak).

With such a diverse array of genres and storylines, January 2025 promises to deliver engaging and thought-provoking television for all audiences. Which premieres are you most excited for? Let us know in the poll below.
