Lead star Jack Quaid has shared his thoughts about The Boys Season 5, which will serve as the final installment of Prime Video’s popular superhero series. Quaid has been playing the role of Hughie Campbell since 2019, where his character officially joined the titular team of misfits in order to stop the injustices caused by the supes.

What did Jack Quaid say about The Boys Season 5?

During a recent interview, Quaid discussed what it feels like now that The Boys will officially be ending its run with the upcoming fifth season. He said he’s glad that they’re getting the chance to end the show on their own terms. The actor also teased what to expect from the “insane” final installment.

“I think it’s good that we end with season five because we’re ending on our own terms. It’s not like someone canceled us and we’re trying to quickly make a season that feels final,” Quaid said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “This was always the showrunner’s intention to end with five seasons and I’ve actually known that for a little bit and tried to keep my mouth shut about it [Laughs]. But there’s something great about an ending that’s intentional, and The Boys season five is gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be very messy. I don’t know, I just keep thinking a lot of us are probably gonna die. It’s just going to be insane and I’m excited to see what that entails.

The Boys series is created and executive produced by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The series currently stars Karl Urban, Antony Star, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Valorie Curry, Susan Heyward and more.
