Caroline Brooks on Rumor RHODubai Was Paused Due to Laws

Caroline Brooks took aim at The Real Housewives of Dubai and its cast in a series of posts on social media on Wednesday.

Months after the series was put on “pause” after just two seasons, Caroline, 36, shaded the show and her castmates, who include Chanel Ayan, 46, Caroline Stanbury, 48, Sara Al Madani, 38, Lesa Milan, 35, and Taleen Marie, 37, as well as “friend” Saba Yussouf, 42, as inauthentic and fake as she addressed recent rumors regarding the series and discussed the show’s editing.

“Honestly, I’m not upset the show was canceled or paused-whatever term you prefer. It felt toxic, overly orchestrated, and many were hiding their true identities. Housewives should be authentic, not forced. I’m grateful for the opportunity, but not the experience,” Caroline began on X on January 1.

Then, after a fan suspected Bravo wouldn’t ask her back for its potential third season, alleging that she was “jealous of [her] castmates who still get opportunities with Bravo,” Caroline made it clear that she’s enjoying her life away from the cameras.

“I have a feeling I’m loving my quiet life and can have any opportunity I want. I also get the feeling you might be jealous and probably jobless, hence all this talk about employment,” she fired back. “Just a feeling, though. Funny how tricky feelings can be, huh?”

Another commenter mentioned rumors that the show had been put on pause due to the laws in Dubai.

“Those rumors aren’t true,” Caroline replied, explaining, “Every episode is approved by lawyers or officials to ensure it’s appropriate for TV in this region. If they thought laws were broken, the Dubai Film and TV Commission would’ve revoked our permits, and that didn’t happen.”

“Don’t believe everything you read,” she added.

Someone else wondered if Caroline felt the pause could be credited to Ayan’s feud with Lesa.

“Do you think the silly Ayan/lesa beef contributed to the show getting canceled?” they asked.

“No way!” Caroline denied. “The drama and ‘beefs’ are why people tune in-it’s a reality show meant to entertain. Fans just weren’t watching. Editing removes anything that could risk the show most of the time. They protect THE SHOW.”

“What you see is what they want you to see. Don’t forget that!” she went on, appearing to shade her producers.

Also on X, Caroline reacted to a fan who was disappointed to hear that the series’ third season was not yet in the works.

“You all showcased real friendships, BIG RICH MONEY, and it was so refreshing and interesting,” they reasoned.

“I agree about showcasing our luxury lifestyle. I wish they showed more of our work lives for those of us who actually work,” Caroline replied. “As for friendships, this cast wasn’t really friends. Some bonds developed through the show, but it was a tough journey.”

The Real Housewives of Dubai began airing in June 2022.
