Dune: Part Two star Zendaya recently recounted how she suffered a heatstroke while filming the sequel due to not drinking enough water.

Speaking to W Magazine, Zendaya opened up about the tough conditions while filming the hit sequel in Jordan. The actress noted that she was so afraid of accidentally going to the bathroom in the stillsuit costumes they had on, she would often not drink.
She went on to say that the bathrooms were located so far away due to having to walk to certain locations. Therefore, she would often forgo drinking in an effort to save on the 10-minute walk. This led to the actress suffering a heatstroke.
“We were in Jordan. It was very hot, and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, man, the bathrooms are so far away,’ because we had to hike to the locations,” continued Zendaya. “If you have to pee, you need at least 10 minutes to get out of the costumes. I was like, ‘Damn, I don’t want to drink too much water.’ I had such a fear of peeing myself or shitting myself, honestly, in the suit on set. One day, I didn’t drink enough and I had a heatstroke. I felt so barfy. I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor, saying, ‘I feel terrible.’ She was like, ‘Did you drink water today?’ I said no. I thought I was being smart, but you can’t do that. So, lesson learned.”
During its theatrical run, the Timothée Chalamet-led sequel earned a worldwide gross of over $710 million at the box office, making it the current highest-grossing movie of 2024. It also currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 425 reviews.

Based on Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novel, Dune: Part Two was directed by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts. The ensemble cast was also led by Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, and Anya Taylor-Joy. It was produced by Villeneuve, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Patrick McCormick, and Tanya Lapointe, with Joshua Grode, Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Richard P. Rubinstein, and John Harrison serving as executive producers.
