Severance is one of those shows where the story has started to peel back layer by layer, giving fans glimpses of the story’s deeper meaning and darker tones as it moves forward.
The season one finale gave us a lot to come back to, deepening the characters’ backstories, but leaving a whole lot open to what will come next. We still have so many questions about what goes on inside Lumon, and hopefully some of them will be answered in the coming weeks.
But if you’re looking to interviews with the show’s stars to give you some juicy spoilers, just know they’re of little help.
During a recent interview with Comic Book, John Turturro, who plays Irving; Britt Lower, who plays Helly; and Zach Cherry, who plays Dylan on the show, were asked how they approach conversations about this series without giving anything away. Turturro said it comes easier for him because he genuinely doesn’t know what’s coming from week to week.
“I haven’t seen the show, so I’m really an innocent here,” Turturro admitted. He didn’t clarify as to whether that means the whole show so far or the second season, but either way, he’s got nothing to offer.
Then Lower added to the conversation, saying, “It’s an obstacle course that we’re going through on our press tour,” while Cherry said, “I just play dumb. ‘I don’t even know, I don’t remember.’”
Lower chuckled at how appropriate this is for the series, joking, “We don’t remember anything we did at work, we were severed.”
Nice tie-in! I’m happy not to get any spoilers, and just head into this season like the last one, never knowing what to expect.
Severance season 2 will debut this Friday, January 17th on Apple TV+, and will air week to week episodes through March 21st.
