Millie Bobby Brown talked about looking 40, her six-minute Grease-themed wedding dance routine, shaving her head every three days for Stranger Things and having 50-plus animals at home — all while wearing Pamela Anderson’s pants.
The Electric State star’s Call Her Daddy interview ticked through an array of topics. The 21-year-old got serious as she hit back at online criticism about her appearance, which she recently addressed on Instagram. Otherwise, things were pretty light as she opened up about cold-calling Jake Bongiovi before they started dating and later marrying him in a wedding she planned down to the last detail.
Here are the highlights.
Brown on online criticism that she ‘looks 40’
The British actress previously called out “bullying” trolls — by name — who remarked on her more mature appearance while promoting The Electric State. She said the press “love[s] to go in on me with certain things,” including “that I look a lot older. … A thing that I get a lot is like, ‘Oh my God, she looks 40.’ And I’m like, well, yeah, you did meet me when I was 10, so I understand. Now I’m 21, it’s been 10 years. She grows. My face grew. What do you want me to do about that?”

Brown said, yes, she does “wear a lot of makeup. It’s just the kind of person I am,” but she’s disgusted by the criticism, which “should never be OK.” She said, “The press just needs to be taught manners again.”
Brown said she and Bongiovi dressed and danced like Grease’s Sandy and Danny at their wedding
She talked all about cold-calling her future husband when he was a college student (“Are you single?” she asked) and how their relationship grew from there. She talked about the awkward moments when he met her parents for the first time, and the less awkward ones meeting his, Jon Bon Jovi and wife, Dorothea.
At their 2024 wedding, Brown planned everything down to the timing of how her wedding party would walk down the aisle. She wrote her own vows, and they clocked in at six minutes long. (“I’m an actor,” she laughed.) Also six minutes? The bride and groom’s reception dance routine, set to Grease’s “You’re the One That I Want,” “Summer Nights” and “We Go Together.”
“We dressed as Sandy and Danny,” she said of the dance, which took them over a year to master. “It was epic.”
She also said her father-in-law, Bon Jovi, didn’t sing at the wedding. He was able to just enjoy himself — and “he definitely danced the night away. … I am so happy that he was just able to be a father of the groom.”
Brown did have her Grammy-nominated friend Raye perform while they were cutting the cake, singing her songs as well as “That’s Amore.”
Brown sees how people think she’s a ‘trad wife’
She talked about life with Bongiovi on her Georgia farm. Her parents live next door to them in Georgia and in London. Brown talked about having “an abundance of animals,” including 10 dogs and four cats that live with them. Only one dog (Winnie) sleeps in their bed after Bongiovi insisted. The animal lover has 25 farm animals and 23 rescue dogs in a sanctuary she built on the property.
She said she gets why some people call her a “trad wife.” She married young, cooks dinner every night and collects eggs from their chickens. “It’s all really veering in that direction, except … I love my job,” she said. “I love being untraditional and unconventional in so many ways of my life.” Plus, “I just love being on a farm and Jake does too, so would that then make him a trad husband? I don’t know.”
Brown said she’ll shave her head again like when she has a child
She says she didn’t care about having to shave her head in her early years on Stranger Things. “I wasn’t sad when they shaved it off. I just thought: cool.” However, having to shave it every three days for filming continuity was a bit tedious.
Brown said when she became 11 or 12, she noticed boys weren’t interested in her the way they were other girls and she started to feel insecure and wore wigs. She said she was also bullied about her hair and appearance.

However, “I still to this day loved the experience and I would do it again,” she said of her shaved ’do. “I always tell Jake, [when we have our] first baby, I want to shave my hair off.” She said hair is “such an ordeal,” she’d rather focus on nurturing the child instead. “I just feel like it was really … liberating. I suggest it for anyone, any girl.”
Brown wore Pamela Anderson’s bedazzled blue bottoms for the interview
Brown has been channeling The Last Showgirl star during her press tour for The Electric State. It’s no copycat situation. The Netflix film Brown is promoting is a retro-futuristic movie set in the ’90s, so she contacted Anderson — whom she didn’t know — and asked to borrow some of her clothes. “Pammy” said yes.
“She was like, ‘Oh, let me just look in my closet and I’ll pull some stuff for you,’” Brown said. “She pulled me a whole rack of clothes that were just unbelievable. These dresses [are] timeless … and these pants were a part of it.”
Brown recently said that they had met, but she told Cooper, “Hopefully one day we can actually be like, real, real friends — that would be epic.”
