Netflix has released two posters for Fear Street: Prom Queen, and they pay tribute to the classic Fear Street book covers from the 1990s. You can check them both out below.

In Fear Street: Prom Queen, “Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway, and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown.

“But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”

The cast includes India Fowler (The Nevers, Insomnia), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket, The Idol), Fina Strazza (Paper Girls, Above the Shadows), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cinnamon), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), and Chris Klein (Sweet Magnolias, American Pie).

The cast also includes Lili Taylor (Outer Range, Manhunt) and Katherine Waterston (The End We Start From, Perry Mason).

The movie is being directed by Matt Palmer (Calibre) and the story is set between the events of Fear Street: 1994 and Fear Street: 1978.

The Prom Queen was book #15 in R.L. Stine’s teen franchise, originally published on March 1, 1992. The description of the book reads:

“A spring night…soft moonlight…five beautiful Prom Queen candidates…dancing couples at the Shadyside High prom—these should be the ingredients for romance.

“But stir in one brutal murder—then another, and another—and the recipe quickly turns to horror.

“Lizzie McVay realizes that someone is murdering the five Prom Queen candidates one by one—and that she may be next on the list! Can she stop the murderer before the dance is over—for good?”

Fear Street: Prom Queen is rated R for “strong bloody violence and gore, teen drug use, language and some sexual references.”

The movie will be released in May 2025.
