Annemarie Wiley shared why her “A-list Black Hollywood” friends allegedly “warned” her to “watch [her] back” with Garcelle Beauvais, and she also addressed Garcelle’s recent cryptic post. The alum also claimed she had drinks with Boz Saint John’s “best friend” two months before Annemarie was fired from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Last month, Garcelle shared the quote, “Not all skinfolk are kinfolk,” leading fans to believe she was alluding to Annemarie, who was fired last season, or Boz, who joined before the new season. Both Boz and Annemarie have had disagreements with Garcelle, an actress who has starred in many films and TV shows.
On the Respectfully, Xaviaer podcast, Annemarie was asked about Garcelle’s recent post.
“I don’t know if she was talking about me or if she was talking about the other new girl,” said Annemarie, referring to Boz. “I really don’t know.”
“What I can [say], though, is … I have some friends [in] the A-list Black Hollywood crew,” she continued. “When I started filming for the show, they warned me. They really said … just watch your back. Because there was an era in — you know, Black Hollywood or whatever you want to call it — where there could only be one. And she’s from that era … They’re competitive with each other because they’re like … ‘I’m gonna be the one to shine, so you can’t shine.’”
According to Annemarie, she “pit[ies]” Garcelle because she “couldn’t get a role anymore” in movies, which is why she joined RHOBH.
“That’s got to be a really big piece of humble pie to swallow,” she said. “I would wish that she would get past bitterness and find happiness … When I’m of that maturity, I hope that’s not what I’m doing.”
“She’s very competitive and unkind to the other Black women,” Annemarie claimed. “And she’s always, like, the race card. The race card has to stop … When you’re constantly blaming everything on race, you are really watering down the scenarios when it actually does happen, so that when they do happen, no one believes it anymore … It’s very, very damaging, I think, to the community.”
Annemarie also claimed that two months before she was fired, she went out for drinks with Boz’s “best friend,” who asked her “very specific questions.”
“Funny how she was probably interviewing me with all those very specific questions so that she could feed that information to her best friend that is, I guess, taking my spot on the show so that she would know how to play her cards right,” said Annemarie, who shared that she’s known the best friend a long time. “I’m sure her friend told her that Dorit is wonderful, and go be friends with Dorit.”
