In one of the wildest events to ever hit Hollywood, Los Angeles hosts the world’s first sperm race — and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

According to UPI, the bizarre but bold competition will take place on April 25 at the Hollywood Palladium, courtesy of a startup appropriately named Sperm Racing. The event was created by a group of young millionaires from the University of Southern California and the University of California, and it’s already stirring conversation across the internet.

The race aims to bring attention to male fertility, turning it into something measurable, competitive — and, according to the founders, actually fun to talk about.

Inside the World’s First Sperm Race: High-Tech Tracks, Instant Replays, and Real-Time Betting

The event will feature three high-stakes races, all run on a microscopic racetrack designed to replicate the human reproductive system — complete with chemical signals, fluid dynamics, and synchronized starts.

In an official press release titled the Sperm Racing Manifesto, co-founder Eric Zhu explained the vision:

“It’s about turning health into a competition. It’s about making male fertility something people actually want to talk about, track, and improve.”

Zhu added:

“We’re taking a topic no one wants to touch and making it interesting, measurable — and weirdly changing this paradigm.”

How it works: Sperm samples will be submitted by the founders, who are also part of the competitive lineup. The fastest swimmers will be tracked in real time through advanced imaging systems. There will also be:

Live leaderboards

Instant replays

Betting options through licensed partners

Yes, you’ll be able to place bets on the winning swimmer. You can’t make this up.
