Lisa Vanderpump and Ariana Madix reportedly “did not speak” to each other “the whole night” during the past White House Correspondents’ dinner at the height of Scandoval. The columnist accused Ariana of being an “a**hole” who thought she was “too good” to converse with other people.
In 2023, Lisa and Ariana attended the esteemed press dinner when President Joe Biden was still in office. At the time, Ariana had just revealed her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s affair with Vanderpump Rules castmate Rachel Leviss, which became a widely reported scandal. Ariana is now the host of Love Island USA.
Speaking to Daily Dose of Dana, Daily Mail reporter Maureen Callahan addressed her experience with Ariana at the dinner.
“She was at our table,” said the columnist, via @bravosnarkside on Instagram. “It was my first White House Correspondents’ Dinner, so everything was new to me. It was the year of Scandoval. I am a dyed-in-the-wool original Vanderpump Rules superfan. Our guest that year was Lisa Vanderpump. I met her. She is a queen … And Ariana — those two did not speak to each other the whole night.”
“I think they exchanged one word, it was amazing to me,” she went on. “[They were] all [at] the same … small table. And Ariana was a total a**hole who thought she was too good to converse with [anyone]. She was on her phone the whole time. Like on Instagram, tweeting, she was like a 13-year-old girl … a very immature 13-year-old.”
Maureen said she wanted to give Ariana the benefit of the doubt.
“Initially, I thought maybe she feels a little bit intimidated by this room full of people who she thinks are very smart,” she added. “But then I realized, no, she’s just an a**hole. She thinks she’s such a big star now that she doesn’t have to deign to be a polite dinner guest and join in the conversation, frankly, and be sparkly and fun like LVP was … I was like, whoa, the culture has misread the Scandoval completely.”
Last year, Bravo replaced the entire cast of Vanderpump Rules with new stars.
