Whitney Rose fires back at claims she’s still friends with disgraced former RHOSLC co-star Jennie Nuygen after they are photographed together.
The Bravoverse was in a tizzy over the weekend as RHOSLC OG Whitney Rose was spotted with former co-star Jennie Nuygen at an event in Salt Lake City.
On Saturday, the 36-year-old hosted an event in collaboration with a fashion boutique called Monkee’s of Draper. At the event, Jennie Nuygen, who starred in season two of RHOSLC before being fired, popped up at the event, UNINVITED.
Whitney, being the hostess with the mostess, posed for a photo with her former RHOSLC co-star in front of the step and repeat.
Of course, Jennie shared the photo on her Instagram and gushed about Whitney’s collab.
“Congratulations @whitneywildrose on your collaboration with @monkees.draper. Everything was amazing and beautiful! Keep doing fabulous and thriving like a wild rose is supposed to,” Jennie wrote alongside photos of the event.
Naturally, Whitney started receiving heat from the RHOSLC fans after Jennie’s post began to make its way around social media.
Eventually, Whitney clapped and denied that she invited Jennie to her event. Instead, Whitney claims that Jennie showed up uninvited.
One fan tweeted: “@whitneywildrose it’s actually disheartening to see you still engaging with this clown…”
Whitney replied, “She showed up unannounced to this public event with her own camera crew. As I’ve said, she is not a friend, and I do not stand by her beliefs at all.”
She then slammed the heat she was receiving for taking a photo with Jennie at her event.
Y’all STFU about Jennie. She is not my friend. I didn’t invite her to this public event. She showed up, shocked the shit out of me but showed remorse. I don’t stand by her beliefs or what she has done; I snapped a photo and moved on. You should do the same.
Then, on Sunday, Jennie clapped back at her critics on Instagram. She told RHOSLC fans not to attack Whitney for their issues with her own past actions. Jennie claims she went to the event to support other female business owners since she is one herself.
Jennie said:
I’m gonna set this straight. Whitney did not invite me to her event. I was invited by somebody else. Whitney is a businesswoman. I’m a businesswoman, and the owner of Monkey is a businesswoman. I was there to support those women, women empowering women. So all you haters, fuck you. If you have an issue with me, that’s on you.
Leave Whitney alone. I said this before. I am saying it one last time. I did not say I don’t like black people, nor did I say I don’t support the BLM movement. I already apologized to those I hurt in my post in 2020. I took full responsibility for what happened.
I am moving on, and if you can’t move on, that’s your problem.
In January 2022, Bravo fired Jennie from RHOSLC after several of her controversial Facebook posts from 2020 resurfaced.
The posts, all from 2020, cover a bevy of controversial topics, including promoting “white lives matter” while condemning George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests.
Jennie also posted and reposted cartoons and images using phrases like “BLM Thugs” and “Violent Gangs.”
