Sydney Sweeney underwent an intense training regimen for her work on the upcoming Christy Martin movie, one that left her with a ton of body changes.
What did Sydney Sweeney say about her training for the Christy Martin movie?
Speaking to W Magazine as part of a recent profile, Sweeney opened up about her training for the movie. The regimen included an hour of weight training, two hours of kickboxing, and more weight training. As a result, Sweeney said her body was “completely different,” joking that her breasts and butt also grew.
“My body was completely different,” Sweeney said. “I didn’t fit in any of my clothes. I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god. But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”
Sweeney’s training clearly worked, as footage from her training went viral earlier this year and showed off Sweeney sparring in the ring dressed as Martin.
The currently untitled Christy Martin movie will see Sweeney take on the role of the legendary boxer who was the first female boxer elected into Nevada’s Boxing Hall of Fame and is also an International Boxing Hall of Famer. The movie will not only chronicle Martin’s rise to fame in the boxing world but also her attempted murder by her husband in 2010 as well.
Along with Sweeney, the movie, which Black Bear is financing, will star Ben Foster, Merritt Weaver, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Katy O’Brian, Chad L. Colman, and Tony Cavlero. Currently, no release information for the movie is available.
