A viral fan moment turned messy after Doja Cat called out TikTok influencer Pablo Tomayo for crossing boundaries during what appeared to be a harmless interaction. Here’s the full story behind their social media feud.
What happened to Doja Cat and Pablo Tomayo?
At a recent event, Doja Cat met Pablo Tomayo, a content creator with 400K TikTok followers. A video showed them hugging, exchanging a cheek kiss, and Tomayo giving her a tank top from his Pride clothing line. While fans initially gushed over the sweet exchange, Doja later revealed she wasn’t okay with it.
The “Paint the Town Red” singer took to X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight. In a now-deleted post, she wrote, “Bottom line is I’ll smile at you but it doesn’t mean I fck w you. And don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even fckin know me. Iykyk.” Furthermore, she went on to say that she needs to stand up for herself. “And he didn’t even know my f*ckin name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.”
The singer admitted she was drunk during the interaction and didn’t feel comfortable with how physical it became. In response to fan comments, Doja Cat doubled down, saying that although Pablo Tomayo “smelled good,” he crossed a line by being too touchy without permission.
After Doja’s tweets blew up, Tomayo posted a TikTok response. He insisted he never meant to make her uncomfortable and respected her boundaries. “I would’ve never wanted to make her uncomfortable. I would’ve never filmed if she didn’t say yes,” he said. “She’s a celebrity. I’m not. I will never understand that, so I value that.”
He also questioned if Doja’s reaction was for clout, pointing out that she happily accepted his shirt and seemed engaged during their chat. Still, he apologized, saying, “I appreciate and I get that… I apologize if I did anything wrong at all.” (via Pinkvilla)
