His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to Deadline on Friday, revealing that McMahon passed away “peacefully” earlier this week. “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,” Kelly said in the emotional statement. “His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy.”

Hollywood Reacts: Dylan Walsh, Fans Pay Tribute

One of the most emotional reactions came from Dylan Walsh, McMahon’s co-star on the hit FX series Nip/Tuck“I’m stunned,” Walsh told Deadline. “We rode this wave together and I loved him. My heart goes out to Kelly and Maddy.”

Since the news broke, fans and fellow actors have flooded social media with tributes, remembering McMahon for both his talent and his humility.

A Look Back at Julian McMahon’s Illustrious Career

Julian McMahon began his career in 1989 on the Australian soap opera The Power, The Passion and soon became a rising star in his native country. His breakthrough came when he joined the cast of NBC’s “Profiler”, followed by a major role on The WB’s “Charmed” as Cole Turner for three seasons.

But it was his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy on Ryan Murphy’s “Nip/Tuck” that truly cemented his status in Hollywood. The series ran for six seasons, and McMahon’s performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He played the charming yet deeply flawed plastic surgeon with a depth that left a lasting impact on pop culture.

Beyond television, McMahon gained a new generation of fans when he portrayed Dr. Victor Von Doom, the iconic villain in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Legacy of a Star Who Lived Boldly and Loved Deeply

Julian McMahon is survived by his wife Kelly, his daughter Madison, and countless fans across the world who admired his range, charisma, and passion for his craft. He consistently chose roles that challenged stereotypes and wasn’t afraid to play the villain or the anti-hero.

I was maybe too young to be watching Nip/Tuck when I did, but I knew Julian McMahon was doing beautiful, impactful work as Dr. Troy grappled with his foster father grooming and abusing him. A painful, powerful scene, gracefully and vulnerably performed. He will be missed. pic.twitter.com/D2ukxBAhdU
