Property Brothers stars Drew and Jonathan Scott don’t have the same amount of money in their bank accounts — but that’s not something they discuss anymore.
As Jonathan, 47, explained, it was once a point of contention between him and his twin.
“I used to film three times more than Drew because he would be there in the beginning, and then he would come back at the end of an episode, and I was there doing the work,” he told Andy Cohen during a Thursday, July 10, appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “And I remember after doing this for 10 years, because we’ve been on the air now for over 15 years, I remember I finally said to Drew, I’m like, ‘Should I maybe get paid three times what you get paid?’ And he’s like, ‘You’re never allowed to bring this up again ever.’”
“I deal with the contracts,” Drew interjected as his brother confirmed this was, in fact, a real fight.

“Off camera, Jonathan and I both do the construction,” Drew continued. “He’s a licensed contractor, but we’ve both done the renovations for years. And also he was a licensed broker… So we’ve done both sides of the fence.”
The Property Brothers franchise includes more than just the HGTV reality series, which premiered in 2011, and its spinoffs. Apart from their television projects, they also have a furniture line and have released their own books, music and mobile app.
“Our product line, we’ve had 12 and a half thousand products in the home space,” Drew said. “We have multi-family real estate portfolio. So there’s a lot outside of what people see on the shows.”
Jonathan spoke to Us Weekly in 2019 about their ever-growing portfolio, saying fans who approach the brothers on the street don’t realize everything else going on in their lives.

“I don’t think people quite understand,” he said at the time. “They see a couple of design guys, and they’re like, ‘Oh, you know, that’s nice. They do a design show and construction, real estate.’ They don’t realize the magnitude of what we’ve been focused on in building our brand and really using our platform to work with nonprofits and charities to focus on stuff that we’re passionate about.”
The Property Brothers are in the final year of a three-year contract they signed with HGTV in 2022 that gave them a collection of new projects on the network. HGTV announced on Thursday that two of their series will be delayed, with Chasing the West premiering on July 30 and season 2 of Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers being bumped from that date to “later this year,” according to a press release.
