Whitney Rose responded to fan backlash after posing in a recent photo with her controversial former castmate Jennie Nguyen, who was fired from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City after the resurfacing of a series of 2020 posts – which were derogatory toward the Black Lives Matter movement.
After Jennie posted the recent photo of herself with Whitney, fans called out the current cast member, accusing her of being friends with Jennie.
Following the backlash, Whitney took to Twitter and shaded her critics.
“Y’all stfu about Jennie. She is not my friend I didn’t invite her to this public event. She showed up shocked the s**t out of me but showed remorse,” wrote Whitney, via @queensofbravo on Instagram. “I don’t stand by her beliefs or what she has done, I snapped a photo and moved on. You should do the same.”
Whitney’s costar Mary Cosby also reacted to the photo by suggesting Whitney is racist.
“This tells me whitney is Racist too!” commented Mary under a photo of Whitney and Jennie on Twitter.

She then posted a video addressing the situation.
“F**k all you haters,” she said, “because I am not friends with Jennie Nguyen. I did not invite her to my event. She showed up to my event that I was hosting, which was a public event, with her own camera crew.”
Whitney continued, “She came up to me. She apologized, said she felt bad for everything that had happened. She is not my friend. I do not stand by what she had posted. Her beliefs. But if someone says I’m sorry, I’m gonna snap a photo and move on. Because what was I gonna do? Create a scene at my business event? No.”

On her own Instagram, Jennie then confirmed that Whitney didn’t invite her to the event, but she claimed she was invited by “somebody else.”
The former castmate said she came to the event to support her fellow women in business.
“[So] all you haters, f**k you!” she went on. “You have issues with me, that’s on you. Leave Whitney alone. I said this before, I am saying it one last time: I did not say, ‘I do not like black people.’ Nor did I say, ‘I don’t support the BLM movement.’ I already apologized to those I hurt in my posts in 2020. I took full responsibility for what happened. I am moving on, and if you can’t move on, that’s your problem.”
