Mariah Carey Excites Fans Her 16th Album Anticipation

Mariah Carey is back, and fans are already calling her tease track the song of the summer before it is even out. The music icon had all eyes on her after posting a sultry Instagram photo in a low-cut pink dress to tease her upcoming project. 

Now, with Mariah Carey’s 16th studio album “Here For It All” officially set to drop in September, excitement is at an all-time high.

The icon took to Instagram wearing a revealing pink dress as she teased her new single, “Sugar Sweet,” from her upcoming album “Here For It All.” In the playful clip, filmed in a kitchen, Carey is seen baking while the light-hearted track plays in the background.

The snippet includes the catchy hook, “I’mma keep it nice, I’mma keep it neat, I’mma keep it sugar, I’mma keep it sweet,” and that was all fans needed to lose it in the comments.

“From only these ten seconds, I’m already positive this is my song of the summer,” one declared. Another agreed, exclaiming, “Oh my God! This one’s gonna break every chart this summer.”

A third gushed, “OMG WE ARE SO BACK. MASTERPIECE ALREADY.” Others were just as hyped, writing, “Inject it into my veins” and “We need it nowwwwww!!!!”

After stealing the weekend spotlight in pink, Carey flipped the vibe on Monday with an all-black outfit to officially announce her long-awaited album, “Here For It All.”

In a teaser clip posted to Instagram, the 56-year-old strutted in heels, rocking a fitted black tank and leggings as she flipped her hair, posed for the camera, and gave a taste of her powerful vocals from the title track. The video’s caption read, “Here For It All. My new album out 9/26. Pre-order now!”

The announcement sent fans into a frenzy. “ALBUM OF THE YEAR,” one person wrote, clearly convinced by just a few seconds of vocals. Another added, “Waited 7 years for this.”

“The heels? Oh I’m so ready,” one fan gushed, while someone else added, “Thank you for making this Monday not so bleak.” One comment summed up the excitement best: “COME ONNNNN Mimi! And we the people are Here For It All!” 

Carey is officially back with her 16th studio album, dropping September 26, and the buzz is already building. Harper’s Bazaar reported that the album’s lead single, “Type Dangerous,” was released last month, accompanied by a high-energy music video. 

Co-written and co-produced with Anderson .Paak, the track, since its release, has had several remixes featuring names like Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza.

Another surprising fact is that the album has been in development for some time. The outlet highlights that Carey first hinted at new music during a “Good Morning America” appearance in November 2023. 

Then, in a May 2024 interview with Variety, she confirmed that she had been writing new material and sorting through which songs would make the cut.

As the mother of two gears up to drop her 16th studio album, it is noteworthy to reflect on the music milestones that helped cement her as one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Wikipedia notes that Carey’s most significant commercial success came with her 1993 album “Music Box,” which sold over 28 million copies worldwide and earned Diamond certification in the U.S.

It topped charts globally and remains one of the best-selling albums in music history. The only other album to mirror that success came two years later. In 1995, “Daydream” was her second Diamond-certified project, moving 20 million copies worldwide. 

Another album that achieved commercial success was “Merry Christmas,” which found massive success in Asia, to the extent that Billboard named her the best-selling international artist in Japan.

She maintained the momentum with “Butterfly” (1997) and her greatest hits compilation, “#1’s” (1998), both of which were certified five times platinum in the U.S. Although her seventh studio album, “Rainbow” (1999), did not top the U.S. charts, it still went triple Platinum.

While Mariah’s upcoming album has fans counting down the days, the actress is still facing personal drama behind the scenes.

The Blast highlighted that Mariah is dealing with a lawsuit filed by her brother, Morgan Carey, who claims he was unfairly portrayed in her 2020 memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey.” 

However, Mariah is not backing down. In April, she stood firm on her stance that every detail in the memoir was truthful. She says her accounts were based not just on her memories, but on stories shared by their mother and others who were familiar with their upbringing.

In a sworn declaration, she described Morgan as heavily involved in Manhattan’s nightlife scene and claimed he frequently carried and distributed cocaine during that time.
