SUPERHUMAN, the record label founded by Swedish House Mafia, has rolled out a new web feature designed to simplify the demo submission process for electronic music producers worldwide.
The simplistic, user-friendly microsite allows artists to upload MP3 or WAV files directly to the label, requiring only basic information including artist name and a brief message. The streamlined approach eliminates the archaic email submission chaos that plagues the inboxes of record labels, instead funneling submissions through a dedicated portal.
“At Superhuman, we recognize that there’s a lot of talent and creativity out there, but not always an easy way to get it heard,” the label said in a statement shared with EDM.com. “We’ve developed a DemoDrop feature and added it to our website to make it easier for artists to send music directly to us.”
The platform also includes a mandatory confirmation step where artists must verify they’ve documented any sample usage in their tracks.
SUPERHUMAN’s sampling disclosure requirement stands as a crucial distinction, demonstrating the label’s proactive approach to rights management, a critical consideration in an electronic music scene where sampling is prevalent. Last week, Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso released a scintillating house track that interpolates a sample of Celine Dion’s 2002 ballad “A New Day Has Come.”
