Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen go way back — and new details of their bond was uncovered during With Love, Meghan season 2.
“I was thinking about how many moons ago we crossed paths,” Meghan, 44, said during the Netflix show’s second episode, which premiered on Tuesday, August 26. “That was [a] past life. That was good ‘ol Deal or No Deal.”
Teigen, 39, responded, “I feel like our lives have had so many chapters, and that one being a really important, funny one.”
Teigen appeared as a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal for the show’s first season, which premiered in 2005, and went on to make a brief appearance on season 2. Teigen returned to her roots when she appeared as the mysterious banker during Deal or No Deal Island season 2 earlier this year. Meghan, meanwhile, was a briefcase model from 2006 to 2007.

Meghan told With Love, Meghan viewers that it had been “almost 20 years” since she had seen Teigen. The pair baked homemade Cheez-Its and made their own jewelry — with their kids’ birth flowers — during Teigen’s appearance on the show while having a walk down memory lane. (The episode also featured Meghan’s first foray into the sourdough-baking world.)
“I remember basically being a backup girl [on Deal or No Deal],” Teigen continued. “Then becoming the alternate, then becoming the banker.”
Meghan recalled all the women “having to stand in line” to get their false lashes put on.
“I do remember coming off stage one day and they held a Ziploc bag open and we all just took our eyelashes off and put it in there,” Teigen added. “I’m like, ‘Are these for tomorrow?’ We’d all just close our eyes. What a time, though.”
Meghan said she was “so happy to have health insurance” at that time in her life.
“Like, I get health insurance with this job,” the Suits alum said. “I left that show and then just a year or so later you got famous. I was like, ‘Oh my, God, she’s on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She was just sitting back there in a little chair waiting.’ You were so sweet.”
Teigen and Meghan said the women were “not competitive at all” with each other.
“Literally, [I] was just fascinated by all of you and just so happy to be in the world of Hollywood,” Teigen said. Meghan added, “How far we’ve come.”
