Country superstar Morgan Wallen is back in the headlines after a viral video captured him accidentally hitting José Bautista’s wife, Neisha, while attempting to recreate the baseball legend’s famous bat flip. The clip, which quickly spread across Instagram, shows the “Last Night” singer reliving one of Major League Baseball’s most iconic moments, only for things to take an unexpected turn. In the backstage footage, Morgan Wallen grabs a bat and confidently imitates Bautista’s legendary 2015 playoff home run celebration with the Toronto Blue Jays, but then things took a turn.

As he swung and let the bat fly, the country star accidentally struck Bautista’s wife, who was filming the stunt nearby. Thankfully, Neisha seemed to be okay, but that didn’t stop social media from sharing reactions on X (formerly Twitter). Fans shared their shock and cracked jokes in the comments section, with one person admitting, “Even when he swung it! Too close. That’s how I broke my nose.” Another added, “Oh shoot!!! That’s hilarious though, as long as she’s alright!!!”

Others flooded the post with laughing emojis, with one fan confessing they couldn’t stop replaying the clip.

Wallen’s Chair-Throwing Case

Still, some took the opportunity to remind Wallen of his past controversies, tying the incident to his infamous chair-throwing scandal. “Not the first time he’s thrown something at someone,” one user wrote, while another joked, “Lucky he wasn’t on a rooftop bar.”

As The Blast reported in December 2024, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, reduced from three Class E felonies, after an eight-month legal process. The charges stemmed from an April 2024 incident in which Wallen threw a chair off the roof of Chief’s, a six-story honky-tonk in Nashville opened by country star Eric Church. He was originally charged with three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and one count of disorderly conduct.

As part of his plea, Wallen was sentenced to seven days in a DUI education center followed by two years of supervised probation. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed that “upon the successful completion of his probation, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement.”

Robinson added, “Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”

Shortly after his April 2024 arrest, The Blast reported that Wallen addressed the controversy directly on his social media account, issuing a public apology to fans and those impacted. “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” he wrote at the time. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

Wallen went on to emphasize his respect for “the officers working every day to keep us all safe” and assured fans that the incident would not derail his professional commitments. He made it clear his tour dates would remain unchanged despite the legal trouble, vowing to continue focusing on music and accountability.

Wallen Boycotts The Grammys

Morgan Wallen doesn’t just brush off criticism because he is also brushing off the Grammys. The country superstar’s team confirmed this week that he will not be submitting his latest album,” I’m the Problem,” or any of its 37 songs for consideration at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The bold move highlights Wallen’s long-running tension with the Recording Academy and the broader music industry. Despite his chart dominance, selling out stadiums and breaking streaming records, Wallen has consistently faced skepticism and rejection from insiders who’ve kept him at arm’s length.

Despite being one of the biggest names in country music, his trophy case doesn’t reflect his commercial dominance. With only two Grammy nominations, both for his 2024 collaboration with Post Malone, Wallen has never received recognition for his solo catalog, including albums and singles that topped charts for months at a time.

The CMAs haven’t been much more generous. Though Wallen has scored two wins, his haul pales in comparison to other artists of his caliber. And even when the industry finally gave him its top honor, Entertainer of the Year in 2024, Wallen skipped the ceremony entirely.
