Once filming ended on The Witcher season 4, fans have been waiting to learn when Geralt’s next adventure would actually hit screens. Tonight, Witcher fans finally got their answer, as not only did we get a full teaser trailer featuring our best look at Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt to date, but we also got a look at one of the franchise’s iconic monsters, some big first looks at the cast, and that much-anticipated release date.
As you can see in the trailer below, while we did receive a brief look at Hemsworth’s Geralt previously, this is a real first look, as we get to see Hemsworth actually hunting monsters and stepping into Geralt’s shoes. The best news is that we won’t have to wait long to see Geralt in action either, as The Witcher season 4 will hit Netflix on October 30th.

While the focus is on Geralt here, it wouldn’t be a Witcher fight without a monster, and we get one of the franchise stalwarts in a Wraith. The Wraith is haunting the area, and we immediately see the biggest issue when hunting a Wraith, which is that you can’t cut them or hurt them with physical weapons. The Wraith starts to drag Geralt around, but we start to see a plan form from the White Wolf, as a good old-fashioned Yrden sign changes the game completely.
Yrden is one of several Witcher signs that Geralt often uses in the books, the games, and the show, and it’s like a magical trap for spirits. When you use the sign and a spirit is trapped in the area with it, it becomes corporeal, and we see that in action when Geralt traps it and then rips out its core. It screams and distinrgrates, making another job well done.
First Looks Galore
Now, the new trailer wasn’t the only thing to hit, as Redanian Intelligence also revealed several first-look images from season 4. Those gave us first season 4 looks for Ciri, Yennefer, Regis, Zoltan, Yarpen, Percival, Valdo Marx, Francesca, the new Vesemir (Peter Mullan), and Ida Emean, as well as everyone’s favorite bard Jaskier.
Laurence Fishburne will be bringing the fan favorite Regis to life in season 4, and another series favorite, Zoltan, will be played by Danny Woodburn. We also got another look at Hemsworth’s Geralt, but the images actually depict one of the flashback sequences from previous seasons that will establish Liam as the new Geralt (as if he were actually Geralt the entire time). We see him fighting the Kikimora that Geralt (then played by Henry Cavill) fought back in season 1.
Last but not least, we got an official poster for The Witcher season 4, which features the three main leads of Geralt (Hemsworth), Ciri (Freya Allan), and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). With it arriving in just under two months, expect the marketing rollout to really hit full gear. There’s also a fifth season currently in production, which will be the show’s final season.
