This is real, this is Camp Rock 3. On Wednesday (Sept. 17), Disney announced that Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers are getting the band back together to create a third installment in the franchise that made them famous more than a decade and a half ago.

With Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas set to reprise their roles as the Gray brothers from the original films and executive produce Camp Rock 3 alongside Lovato, the newly green-lit project commenced filming in Vancouver this past week, according to a release. The veteran campers will also be joined by an all-new cast of young actors, including Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean.

Maria Canals-Barrer, who played the mother of Lovato’s character, Mitchie, in the original films, will also reprise her role.

The first Camp Rock premiered on Disney Channel in 2008, propelling both Lovato and the Jo Bros to teen-idol status. The vocalist and boy band would go on tour together after the first film came out, and in 2010, they reunited for a sequel titled Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

In the 15 years since, Camp Rock has solidified its legacy as one of Disney Channel’s most beloved projects — as evidenced by the streaming boost its soundtrack received just a few weeks ago when Lovato joined the Jo Bros on stage for the first time in years to help sing “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” at the band’s tour kickoff show in New Jersey. Shortly prior to Lovato’s surprise cameo, Joe accidentally let slip that a script existed for a third Camp Rock movie during an appearance on Hot Ones Versus.

“Read Camp Rock 3,” the DNCE frontman read aloud from his phone at the time, fulfilling the show’s challenge to share the last thing he’d written in his Notes app. “It’s the truth. It’s literally right here. Sorry, Disney!”

Now that the news is officially out, the Jonas Brothers are getting fans hyped. In a TikTok shared on the same day as the announcement, the trio filmed themselves mouthing along to one of their scenes in the original Camp Rock while on set of the third movie.
