Britani Bateman‘s daughter, Olivia, took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to react to the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, which featured the two of them having a heart-to-heart.
After calling out Britani, 54, for putting men before her and her sister, Taylor, and opening up about the abandonment she felt after Britani remarried, Olivia shared a message with her online audience as Heather Gay, 51, reacted to the emotional scene, and Britani agreed that her child was “incredibly brave” and “handled [herself] beautifully.”
“Feeling so many things watching this back. For those who have felt the same, I see you and love you,” Olivia wrote with her October 21 post.
During Tuesday night’s episode of RHOSLC, Olivia was seen sitting down with Britani and asking her if she remembered the last time they had plans to chat.
“I had, like, [a] 30-minute break between jobs. So I came over to your house, planned to meet up, then [your on-again-off-again boyfriend, Jared Osmond] came at the same time, and then you guys just started making out in front of me, didn’t even glance at me. So, I guess, the difference here in this is that a man that you’re dating was here for the first one. So now that he’s not here, you’re giving me your full attention, which I appreciate. But I want you to want to get to know me and to want to spend time with me over anyone, especially somebody that you’re dating, not dating, who knows,” Olivia stated.
“I know,” Britani replied. “I don’t even know, I don’t even know why that happened. I really don’t. I’ve been in the habit of choosing men for so long because I have kids that I don’t even get to see.”
“Yeah, but you can’t put that on us,” Olivia interjected. “You can’t talk about how sad you are because you have kids that don’t talk to you.”
“I’m not. I’m trying to get to know you. Like, I’m trying,” Britani insisted.
Then, in a cast confessional, Olivia opened up more about her younger years with Britani and when things changed.
“My mom was everything you’d want in a mom, so present in our lives. Every field trip, every dance recital, every school talent show, she was there. And she was so much fun,” Olivia revealed. “I was 12 when she got remarried, and it was like somebody flipped a switch in her brain to turn that person off completely. And so to go from, ‘I love my mom. She comes with me to everything,’ to be begging for her attention was so hard because I knew that she can be a loving mother who cares about her kids. I know it’s in her.“
Back in her scene with Britani, Olivia told her mom that it was “important that [she] take accountability and realize that [she] wanted a mom” as Britani broke down.
“What kid is like, ‘I don’t really want my mom to raise me. I would really love to talk to my dad about periods. That’s ideal,’” Olivia concluded.

Following the sharing of her Instagram post, Olivia was met with a comment from Heather.
“You both were amazing and so real,” she wrote.
In response, Britani shared, “Thank you. So hard to watch tonight. Heartbreaking … feeling so grateful to at least be talking again and starting to rebuild.”
Someone else said, “You were incredibly brave and handled yourself beautifully. I wish I had those words when I was your age,” and Britani agreed, saying, “She really did.”
“Divorce is very hard on everyone. Work through it together and give it a chance. Kids need moms and moms need their kids,” shared a third commenter, prompting Britani to post a bandaged heart emoji.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
