What happens in the Night Patrol trailer?
The Night Patrol trailer, per the official synopsis, follows a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer who “must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.”
In addition to Fowler and Long, the cast of Night Patrol includes WWE champion CM Punk (Jakob’s Wife, Girl on the Third Floor), RJ Cyler (Power Rangers, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Freddie Gibbs (Power Book IV: Force), YG (Blame It On the Streets, White Boy Rick), Flying Lotus (Ash), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, Scream IV), Jon Oswald (Lowlife, Tribal), and Nicki Micheaux (Shameless, Lincoln Heights).
The script comes from Prows, Shaye Ogbonna, Tim Cairo, and Jake Gibson. Prows previously directed 2017’s Lowlife, and the “Terror” segment featured in 2021’s V/H/S/94. David S. Goyer, Keith Levine, James Harris, and Josh Goldbloom produce Night Patrol, while XYZ, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Grady Craig, Mark Lane, YG, Narineh Hacopian, Gracie Wheelan, and David Tracy serve as executive producers.
Prows said in a statement, via The Hollywood Reporter, “I am thrilled that we’re partnering with RLJE and Shudder to bring Night Patrol to theaters. It’s been a long road to get here, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to help push this fun, rollercoaster of a film out into the world. I’m beyond excited we get to blast our wild film far and wide to a hungry, unsuspecting audience.
Night Patrol arrives on January 16, 2026.
