Dancing With the Stars season 34 is winding down — but the competition is tougher than ever.
The six remaining couples took the floor for Prince Night on Tuesday, November 18, hoping to secure a place in the season finale. Before each pair performed their two dances — one unlearned style and a repeat style from earlier in the season — cohost Alfonso Ribeiro shared why Prince was the perfect artist to set the tone for the semi-finals.
“Prince showed us that music isn’t just something you hear, it’s something you feel, and tonight, we dance in his honor,” he said in a voiceover, later revealing that the performances would appear in order of when their respective Prince hits were released.
Elaine Hendrix and partner Alan Bersten were first to dance, earning all nines for their foxtrot to “I Wanna Be Your Lover.”
“Tonight we are looking to see who’s gonna make it to the finale, right? Nothing was wrong with the dance, I just want you to say, I would still love to see you push a little [further],” Carrie Ann Inaba told the actress.
Inaba and her fellow judges, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, gave each dancer precise feedback to keep in mind before they potentially compete in the November 25 finale.
By the end of the night, however, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas kissed their chances of winning the mirrorball trophy goodbye.
