Kelsey Grammer is returning to the role of Hank McCoy/Beast from his days in the X-Men franchise. He will play the mutant in the upcoming Marvel event film Avengers: Doomsday, alongside his fellow X-Men, Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and James Marsden (Cyclops).
While things are being kept very under wraps at this time, Grammer gave a couple of surprising details to Entertainment Tonight when they asked him about the movie:
Grammer gushed about returning to the role, stating, “To come back as Beast — I don’t know how much I’m allowed to talk about — but it was fun to interact with people I hadn’t acted with before.”
When asked who he was most geeked out to interact with, he responded, “You know, Thor. I’m a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. I love him.”
When asked if they got to share a scene, the actor stated, “It’s sort of sharing a scene. I can’t, I don’t wanna go too far. And I really had a great time with the new guy from Fantastic Four. Pedro, yeah, yeah…wonderful guy. I really, really enjoyed hanging out with him. And we worked together…some.”
When verifying that he was saying they shared a scene in some capacity, Grammer replied, “Yes.”
So it sounds like Beast isn’t just a passing cameo in the film, but is actually sharing the screen with all the heavy hitters, including Thor, Mister Fantastic, and even Doctor Doom himself!
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
