Before confirming her split from husband Todd Bradley this week, Bronwyn Newport shared more details behind her “open marriage” conversation with Whitney Rose on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and addressed Todd’s ‘upsetting’ reaction to it.
On a recent episode, castmates claimed Meredith Marks yelled insults at Britani Bateman for hours on their flight back from a trip. Bronwyn, however, took a different plane home, so she was left in the dark.
But when Bronwyn landed in Salt Lake, she saw a Twitter post from someone claiming to have caught Todd looking at pictures of other women on his cell phone during his own flight to New York. When Whitney Rose later met up with Bronwyn to discuss the Meredith allegations, Bronwyn shared that she kicked Todd out of the house over the Twitter post. She also told Whitney that she’d consider having an open relationship if that’s what Todd needs.
On Lovett or Leave It, Bronwyn addressed the conversation.
“When I started hearing, you know, ‘All this drama with the plane was so crazy. We need to film some things and get everybody caught up’ — the drama I had on the plane was that I saw this tweet about my husband. I had no idea what happened or didn’t happen with Meredith,” said Bronwyn. “So I went into filming those lunches and meet-ups thinking they all knew what I knew about the tweet about my husband. I assumed the drama from the plane was them all coming to me, ‘Is your husband cheating?’”
“If I had just sat there and let them talk first, both Mary and Whitney, I would have maybe not shared quite so much,” she added. “I really thought, I’m going to sit down and they’re going to come at me about this. I just need to be open how I feel. ‘I’m embarrassed. I’m hurt. We got to figure this out.’ And they were like, ‘What are you talking about?’”
On Peacock’s Sunday Night Football: Reality Hot Seat, Bronwyn addressed Todd’s reaction to her ‘open relationship’ convo with Whitney.
“Well, he knew before he saw it, obviously. We talked in the interim,” said Bronwyn. “I think it was really hard for him to watch … I mean, I might get benched for a season; I might get traded to another team … He knows, obviously, it’s our marriage, we have conversations about it. I think it really shocked him.”
She suggested that Todd was upset because she discussed their personal issues with someone else.
“I spoke to Whitney about it … That might have felt like I was giving the other team our playbook,” she said. “So I might have been in trouble for that.”
