Another intensely psychedelic adventure from the legendary master of comics, Jean “Mœbius” Giraud, arrives June 2026 in Moebius Library: The Depressed Hunter. This hardcover edition will be the first time this story has been presented in English, written and illustrated by Mœbius, translated by Diana Schutz (Blacksad, The Major), and lettered by Adam Pruett (The World of Edena, The Major).

About Moebius Library: The Depressed Hunter:

In this graphic novel prequel to The Major, Mœbius’s Major Grubert finds himself attempting to chase away the blues, but gets caught up into a surreal adventure. Taking a vacation to the Airtight Garage to clear his mind, Grubert walks straight into an assassination plot: his own! As the Major goes undercover, the late, great French master cartoonist Mœbius delivers The Depressed Hunter, taking readers into the intricate world of the Major’s dreams—and nightmares!—with the lush, exquisite pen-and-ink work for which the author is best known. This is another intensely psychedelic adventure that only Mœbius could take us on!

Moebius Library: The Depressed Hunter (hardcover, 88 pages, 8.376” x 10.875”) will be available in bookstores on June 9, 2026 and in comic shops on June 10, 2026. It is now available for pre-order from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local bookstore or comic shop for $24.99.

Praise for Moebius:

“The visuals are enormous, definitely a spectacle, and the story presents [The World of Edenas’] philosophical ideals with nice drama and conflict.”—Multiversity Comics

“Colorfully illustrated and as described by its creator, ‘simple, yet very polished.’ [Moebius’] illustrations provide an emphasis to his story that goes beyond simple explanations. One of his gifts is allowing the reader to interpret his vision however you see fit. His approach allows this adventure to build and build, creating an endless landscape of planets, stars, and a variety of uniquely bizarre characters.”—Fanbase Press

“It’s funny, it’s poignant, it’s well translated from the original French, it’s unforgettable. If you are a Moebius fan, please add this volume to your collection!”—ICv2

“Moebius, in dialogue, narration and visual storytelling alike, has a Monty Python knack of undercutting the discomfort of the unreal with sudden everyday bathos and undercutting anything too straightforwardly narrative, or potentially deep, with eruptions of outright silliness.”—Starburst Magazine
