Is Marvel Studios hiding Doctor Doom? A rumor reveals who will be the focus of the last two trailers for the highly anticipated film.
It may sound surreal to say, but trailers for Avengers: Doomsday are finally making their way out into the world. The first was focused on Steve Rogers, the contents (and video) of which were leaked last week. The leak came alongside a leak of the audio for Thor’s trailer, confirming him as the second hero. From there, it was largely assumed that Doctor Doom would receive a trailer alongside another returning star, such as Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk or Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
However, it seems as though fans may not be getting what they expect in the last two trailers. A rumor from The Hot Mic co-host Jeff Sneider seemingly confirms that Doctor Doom will NOT be the focus of any of the four Avengers: Doomsday trailers. This came as a shock to many fans, especially considering that Robert Downey Jr. is essentially being touted as the face of the upcoming film.
The Last Two Trailers For Avengers: Doomsday
Instead of Doctor Doom, one of the two trailers will actually focus on his adversaries: The Fantastic Four. Marvel’s first family will reportedly be encountering the Wakandans in their trailer. While it’s not clear what exactly their relationship will be in Avengers: Doomsday, it’s more than likely that the footage will tease Sue Storm’s interactions with Namor.
The last of the trailers (though third to release) will focus on the returning cast of the X-Men films. While Doctor Doom likely won’t physically appear in any of these pieces of footage, it’s more likely than not that his presence will be felt in this one. This is because everything fans have seen of the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday suggests they’re under attack by Sentinels, who potentially could have been sent by Doctor Doom to neutralize them as a threat.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
