Chris Hemsworth has officially made his return in Avengers: Doomsday! The latest trailer for the upcoming film puts the focus on Thor once more.
This past month, Marvel has been putting out new trailers to hype up the release of Avengers: Doomsday next winter. The first trailer put a focus on Chris Evans, confirming his return as Captain America in the project. The most recent brings the focus on the God of Thunder himself, Thor, with Chris Hemsworth stepping back into the godly boots.
Thor’s trailer has officially been released online, given those unable to catch it in theaters to experience the return of Chris Hemsworth to his most iconic role. Not much is revealed in the footage, largely focusing on Thor’s relationship with his daughter, Love, and praying to Odin that he survives the conflict of Avengers: Doomsday.
Thor’s Role In Avengers: Doomsday
If this trailer is anything to go on, it seems as though Thor’s story in Avengers: Doomsday will be largely focused on family. This isn’t too shocking, given it’s been a common them throughout the entirety of Chris Hemsworth’s tenure as Thor. However, given the character has a child now, it will likely be viewed through an entirely new lens.
A number of key characters in Thor’s story are also set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, such as Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. While that version of the character isn’t the version of his brother fans knew on the silver screen, it’s more likely than not that the characters will have an emotional reunion. And, depending on how emotional it gets, it may be the last time both Hiddleston and Chis Hemsworth are seen in the MCU.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
