Born Again’ Producer Teases ‘Cool Surprises’ With Jessica Jones’ Return

Daredevil: Born Again is keeping fans on its toes! Producer Brad Winderbaum teases surprises may be in store for when Jessica Jones makes her return in the series.

One of the most exciting parts about Daredevil: Born Again is that Krysten Ritter is making her grand return as Jessica Jones after nearly 7 years away from the role. It’s always exciting to see a character again after a long break. However, that also brings up the worrying question of “What have they been up to this entire time?”

It’s a delicate balance. Have nothing happen and it feels unrealistic, have too much happen and it feels jarring. It’s a problem that Daredevil: Born Again itself has struggled with in the past, with the series having to be reworked from the ground up after the original draft changed the characters too severely. This has left some worried about how the team may handle Jessica Jones’ return.

Surprises Are In Store For Jessica Jones

Brad Winderbaum, who serves as the Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios, recently made an appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast. During the appearance, he was asked about season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, in specific what fans can expect from Jessica Jones’ return. Luckily, it seems that the team has cooked up some fun surprises for fans.

“What’s really fun about that character is the time jump from the last time we saw her. It’s been a while. So, we’re reestablishing this character and catching the audience up to what the hell she’s been up to. That is filled with a lot of very cool surprises.”

Jessica Jones was always the most grounded of the Netflix shows. While, on one hand, it gave it a unique texture no other series has been able to capture, it also hamstrung quite a few creative decisions. It’s possible that fans may see a more “super” version of the heroine once she finally makes her return in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
