The Masters of the Universe are here! The first teaser for the live-action He-Man movie gives fans their first bits of footage ahead of the trailer.
The road to Masters of the Universe has been a hard one. The project has churned through two studios, three lead actors, and almost assuredly more money than most people will see in their lifetime. However, after many, many long years of waiting, the first teaser for He-Man’s return has dropped- teasing an epic new trailer.
Not too much footage was shown in the trailer. However, it did give fans their first look at the titular Masters of the Universe, alongside their first official look at Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, aka He-Man. The full teaser can be seen below, though the footage from the upcoming live-action film doesn’t start until well into the runtime.
A Simpler Take On He-Man
The running theme of the teaser, which will likely be carried over to the full trailer, is that heroism used to be much “simpler”. It’s likely that, in an age of complicated villains and gritty reboots, the live-action Masters of the Universe will play it close to the chest with their He-Man lore, trying to keep the adaptation as faithful as possible.
Of course, reports that came out prior to this teaser trailer don’t paint as optimistic a picture. The rumor mill suggests that Masters of the Universe will follow the classic playbook of 80s/90s reboots. Namely, that Prince Adam will be from our world, before being thrust into another universe to take up the mantle of He-Man.
