Netflix’s Hit Action-Adventure Show Draws 100% RT Score With Season 2

Netflix has decided not to renew one of its newest shows, more than a month after its first season debuted. In addition, the streamer has also canceled a comedy series after just releasing its second season last November 2025.

Which Netflix shows won’t be getting a new season?

According to Deadline, Netflix has ordered the cancellation of Gillian Anderson’s Western action drama The Abandons and the highly rated comedy series The Vince Staples Show. The latter lasted for two seasons, with its first installment receiving an approval rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

During the first two weeks after its series debut, The Abandons was able to claim one of the spots in Netflix’s Top 10 for English shows. However, the drama wasn’t able to maintain the momentum and eventually dropped off the list. Meanwhile, despite failing to catch the attention of a wider audience, The Vincent Staples Show still became a hit among critics.

The Abandons was created by Sutter, who’s best known for his work on hit shows like The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, and Mayans M.C. The ensemble cast also includes Lena Headey, Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Natalia del Riego, Lucas Till, Aisling Franciosi, Toby Hemingway, Michael Greyeyes, Ryan Hurst, and more. Despite its star-filled cast, the show’s debut season received negative reviews from critics. It only received a Tomatometer rating of 30%, based on 43 reviews.

The Vince Staples Show was co-created by acclaimed rapper Vince Staples, Ian Edelman, and Maurice Williams. Loosely based on Staples’s life, the satirical comedy featured the BET Hip Hop Awards-winning rapper playing a version of himself, who must navigate the challenges of everyday life in his hometown of The Beach. The show included guest appearances from Arturo Castro, Bryan Greenberg, Rick Ross, Franz Drameh, Beau Billingslea, and more.
