Welp, President Donald Trump says he will be skipping Super Bowl LX because he’s not feeling the 2026 show’s performers, Bad Bunny and Green Day — both of whom are critics of President Trump.

Bad Bunny Named Super Bowl LX Headliner, Trump And MAGA Supporters Condemn The 2026 Halftime Show Performer
Back in September 2025, JAY-Z’s Roc Nation, the NFL, and Apple Music dropped the bombshell that the Puerto Rican icon will hit the famed stage on February 8 in Santa Clara, CA. However, the announcement sparked tons of controversy — especially from Trump and MAGA supporters.
In response, Bad Bunny leaned into it. During his October 2025 ‘ Saturday Night Live (SNL)‘ monologue, he quipped, “You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and I’m very happy, and I think everybody’s happy about it … even Fox News!”
He also joked that non–Spanish speakers have “four months to learn” Spanish. The Latin artist has also trolled and mimicked Trump in the opening of his music video for “NUEVAYoL.”

Days later, Trump reacted to the NFL decision to name Bad Bunny as 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. During an interview with Newsmax, he said:
“I never heard of him, I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s like crazy. They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
A couple days after that, Turning Point USA, led by Charlie Kirk‘s widow Erika Kirk, announced they were putting together their own “All American” Super Bowl Halftime Show amid Bad Bunny controversy.

Donald Trump Slams Super Bowl LX’s Performers, And Trump Critics, Bad Bunny And Green Day
Since the initial drama, on January 18, the NFL added more controversy after announcing Green Day as openers for 2026’s show. Like Bad Bunny, Green Day aren’t fans of Trump. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has previously called the Trump administration fascist and changed the lyrics to the band’s song “American Idiot” during live shows, from “I’m not a part of a redneck agent” to “I’m not a part of a Trump/MAGA agenda.”
In a January 24-published article, The New York Post revealed Trump told them, “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.” However, he claimed the performers weren’t his reason for skipping the game.
Trump clarified, “It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like. I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.” Trump attended last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, where the Phildelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs and Kendrick Lamar headlined the Halftime Show.
