The Hamptons girlies are still living out their “hot girl summer” (thanks to Rachel Zoe) on this episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Amanda is trying to make sense of Sutton Stracke jumping all over her and Erika Jayne has a new legal hurdle to overcome. While checking in on Denise Richards after learning of her abusive relationship with Aaron Phypers, Erika shares that she, too, experienced abuse- recently- proving no one ever truly knows what a person is going through…
After Amanda’s manifestation dinner fail, she wonders how she can ever get the ladies to take her seriously. She is annoyed by their behavior and is even more irked that she is now getting blamed for the Dorit and Kyle fight. Her husband points out that Amanda does not truly know the whole situation with Dorit, but that perhaps the women are having a hard time figuring Amanda out because she is young.
A bitter Amanda muses that maybe Dorit feels this way about her “cuz I am young and successful and not financially dependent on a man and she outsourced her financial well-being to a man and it didn’t go well?” Ooph.
Bozoma and Sutton meet in the park and joke about manifesting. Boz sees a huge difference in Sutton this year- she listens, she is logical, and she is giving advice to Amanda about how to talk to Dorit. Boz seems to really like Sutton Brown.
Boz tries to break down what it is that Amanda actually does and she thinks that Amanda tells people “how to manifest money while taking their money.” They wonder why Amanda feels like she has to quantify her money to fit into the group and why she is refusing any help from the ladies about her actions.
While lounging in the Hamptons, Kyle FaceTimes Erika. Erika fills Kyle in on Amanda’s dinner party. She lets Kyle know that Sutton wanted Amanda to take accountability for her personal opinions about Dorit’s situation and to quit throwing Kyle under the bus. Kyle, however, feels like the women are being hard on Amanda, who is clearly having a hard time connecting with them.
Erika shares that she will be going to dinner with Sutton and Denise and they discuss the recent news about Denise’s marriage. We learn that despite not being on the best of terms, Denise always reached out to Erika as she went through the Tom stuff and now Erika is ready to support Denise.
The Hamptons crew is heading out to the Surf Lodge where they are greeted by the owner. Dorit is absolutely in awe of the club scene and Kyle is loosening up- will we get a split by the end of the night?
Boz talks to her daughter about the upcoming school year. For 16 years, Boz’s daughter has been by her side and the thought of college is making Boz nervous. She is fighting the disappointment of potentially using a donor egg and her daughter seems very mature listening to Boz talk about the IVF process.
Amanda is realizing that she likes Erika, and so she has invited her over her home…once again. Erika advises Amanda that when she says something, she needs to own it quickly. Erika explains that she was very judged for a long time in this group, but it’s important to be vulnerable and open.
Erika suggests that Amanda open up about her cult past and Amanda spills. When Amanda was in high school, she was involved in her youth group, despite her family’s lack of religion. Amanda moved from Oklahoma to Florida, where the church was, and the longer Amanda was there, the more controlling things got. Amanda believes this church was trying to isolate her from her family.
After a year and a half, Amanda realized that this was not the life for her so she drove from church to her sister’s house, leaving the church behind forever. Erika wants Amanda to tell THESE kind of stories to the group…
Dorit flirts with musicians while dining on the finest fries and chicken tenders. Rachel brings up an article about Erika heading to trial over $25 million dollars spent during her marriage to Tom. Well, that’s a helluva lot of money that Erika does not have… Erika seems to get past one situation only to get into another litigious process.
The conversation switches to dating types of guys. According to Dorit, she doesn’t have a type…it’s more like their wallet, I mean, charm.
Kyle talks about the fight between Amanda and Sutton. Dorit points out that this year Sutton is checked in (and on Dorit’s side) and so clearly they have made progress with their relationship. Rachel lets Dorit know that she is a little adverse towards Amanda, but Dorit claims she will be cordial with her in a group setting.
Back in Beverly Hills, Erika meets with Sutton and Denise. The conversation quickly dives into all of the work Denise has recently had and Erika shares her war stories about her plastic surgery. All the while Sutton looks on, aghast, as she has had zero work done, despite living in Beverly Hills.
Denise is happy to see that Erika and Sutton are getting along…and Erika believes it has a lot to do with Sutton staying away from the vodka. They have come to an understanding and Erika admits that she was going through a hard time with all of the Tom stuff back then. However, that “Tom stuff” seems to haunt her since now she is being sued by Tom’s trustees and it is an exhausting process meant to drive her into bankruptcy.
Erika wastes no more time and asks Denise about the black eye picture. Denise admits that this was not a one-time thing and she never shared the red flags in her marriage because she would have had to leave sooner. Denise finally realized that there was no hope in salvaging her marriage when Aaron allegedly hit her post-op. She has since filed a restraining order and laughs that this guy is making her ex, Charlie Sheen, look like a saint.
Erika gets all serious and lets Denise know that she, too, went through this “lonely isolating experience.” Erika makes it clear that it wasn’t any of her ex-husbands.
According to Erika, she recently met someone and it started out fun, but it quickly turned sideways when the chaos ensued. Sutton is shocked that Erika never told anyone about her abusive situation, considering the strength that Erika displays. Erika did her best to remain calm, but by the third time, she needed to swallow her pride and call 911.
After dropping that bombshell, the subject changes to Erika’s new man, a former Special Forces contestant…something that Denise should know a lot about. Denise was also on that show and Aaron leaked texts about her alleged affair to a Special Forces Costar. Seeing a lighter, happier Erika talk about a relationship is refreshing, considering what she has and still is going through…
