As Ryan Murphy prepares to unleash lucky Season 13 of American Horror Story, the star-studded cast has quietly added a new name.
Camp cinema legend John Waters recently revealed that he has “a big new part” in the upcoming season of the FX horror anthology series, which is expected to premiere in 2026 after Murphy teased the season on Halloween.
“I’m going to announce tonight something new,” Waters teased during a Valentine’s Day spoken word performance in his Baltimore hometown, according to the Baltimore Fishbowl. “I can’t say what role, but I have a big new part in American Horror Story.”
The Pope of Trash later joked, “I’m typecast. I’m always either the devil or Chucky’s father… I’ve always been trying to steal Vincent Price’s career.”
In October, Murphy revealed the first round of casting announcements for Season 13 of AHS, including Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman and Jessica Lange.

“Surprise, bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me,” read the announcement, quoting Roberts’ memorable AHS: Coven line as Madison Montgomery.
Waters’ AHS debut comes after he has appeared in most of his own films, as well as horror roles in Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat (2002), Seed of Chucky (2004) and Suburban Gothic (2014), as well as a 2024 episode of Syfy/USA’s Chucky series.
