I really loved this episode of FBI, sure I missed the presence of Maggie but at this point budget cuts have just become the norm. This was definitely Jubal’s episode and I think seeing him shine in this episode is what made it so good.

In the eight seasons that we have known Jubal, we have watched him struggle with his own demons and have the help of his fellow agents to bring him back to solid ground. The interactions he had with Sean showed how far he has come and even started to take up a mentor type role to him.

I loved the fake out at the start of this episode to have Ricky be the one that had been kidnapped and not Landon. It made the storyline all the more shocking when Landon came home, especially since I assumed that meant that the kidnapper had let him go.

I liked that we got to see Eva interrogate Eric, she was incredibly effective at talking to him and making sure that he knew who was in charge. We haven’t really got to see that side of Eva before and it was great to see what she has in her back pocket. I am really enjoying the way that we are being drip fed information about her.

I adored the scene between Eric and Sean on the phone. It’s not easy to convey a strong bond over a phone call but Ade Chike (Sean) and Christopher B. Duncan (Eric) did an incredible job. You could tell instantly that they were essentially family.

I never thought I would feel emotional for a felon on FBI but it was genuinely heartbreaking listening to Eric confess that he did murder the girl.

I think the ending of this episode was absolutely perfect. I know that Stan may never visit Sean but the fact that Jubal even asked him to was so powerful. Often we see Jubal have this hard outer shell but this episode we really saw his compassion and empathy for Sean. Maybe he sees a bit of Sean in himself.

Overall this was a really strong episode, this type of episode is exactly why I love FBI!
