This was a fantastic Chicago PD episode. This season has been great episode after great episode and this was no different.
It is great to have Ruzek back, and it was such a perfect episode focussing on him.
I loved that we got to see Ruzek have a path of growth throughout this episode. Every conversation that he had landed him in the place where he could finally be okay with moving house and putting Mack and Burgess first and it was lovely to see.
Ruzek’s instincts are always on point and I think it was a great twist to have Cade actually be the good guy. Even I was questioning if Cade was a dirty cop or not, especially when he took the phone.
Moe Jeudy-Lamour as Boogie in this episode was a great addition. Ruzek has always been pretty close to his CI’s and it’s natural that his first instinct was to believe him over a DEA agent. The ending of this episode was like a mesh between old Adam and new Adam.
Voight may not have been in this episode but his presence was felt in each character.
I loved seeing Burgess in charge, she is always great when she gets her time to shine. The scene when she first takes over the case showed just how good she is at her job. It took her a couple of seconds to assert her authority and have everyone in line straight away.
Overall this was a fantastic episode and gave us some good development for Ruzek and for the Burzek family.
I am looking forward to seeing more of this family dynamic developing further as they look for a new house/schools.
