Singer Sammie is back in the headlines as he denies being a deadbeat dad after his son’s mother blasts him online, resulting in video then surfacing of her leaving their newborn son on his father’s doorstep, and her slamming the singer for “weaponizing her postpartum depression.”

On October 21, 2025, Sammie welcomed son Legend Lee Bush with Brooklyn Marshall, known online as Marie Brooke. Months later, Marie dragged her son’s father for allegedly being a deadbeat. On Monday (March 23), Marie took to Threads slamming the singer. She wrote:
“Imagine your son being in the same city as you several times since birth and you’ve only seen him once while he was in your city for a total of three hours, and haven’t visited him in his city since 10 days after he had surgery at seven weeks for less than 48 hours @sammiealways.”
Marie shared another post, which she has since deleted. However, a social user replied and asked, “Why do you want him around your son if he’s wished death on him? You’ve been saying he hasn’t been present. Why would you want him to be after that?”
Marie replied:
“He did not, a former resident there at the time did as he expressed to me. Therefore our son wasn’t allowed over there and he agreed that it would be unsafe for our son to be around that person. Hence him saying, that person is no longer living there, it’s just him.”

Sammie’s Legal Team Denies Deadbeat Dad Allegations From Infant Son’s Mother
After getting slammed, Sammie’s legal team released a statement to TheShadeRoom on Tuesday (March 24). It read:
“In light of the recent statements and allegations circulating on social media, I have spoken with my client, Sammie, regarding these matters. Accordingly, he DENIES all of these allegations.
While the claims being made do not accurately reflect the reality of the situation, Sammie remains focused on what matters most: his children and his continued presence in their lives. He is, first and foremost, a father, and he takes that responsibility seriously.
Out of respect for his family, he has chosen not to engage in public discourse regarding private matters. However, it is important to note that he approaches fatherhood with care, intention, and consistency.
At this time, there will be no further public comment, and any necessary matters will continue to be handled through the appropriate channels. We appreciate the continued support and respect shown to Sammie and his family as he prioritizes the wellbeing and privacy of his children.
Marie went back on Threads and said, “Now Sammie, you’re commenting and doing everything but be a father.” She then attached a screenshot of an alleged text from him “giving her her flowers.” The text read:
“Wanted to give u ur flowers 💐. Thank you for being a prayer warrior for me yesterday and for being a safe space and pouring into me these past few days. And also for being a visionary. Legend is seeming to be the glue indeed to patching some missing pieces into my life and with that, you’ve been leading the way. Appreciate you for no longer being apart of the problems but rather a resolve. My prayer is that we continue to learn and grow one another with Godliness, respect and peace. 💙🫶🏾. Life is short so felt it on my spirit to say these words 2u.”
After a social user blasted Marie for bringing her family drama to the internet, she fired off:
“He brought upon himself when he decided to hop in the comments speaking on anything instead of picking up the phone in regard to his son. I presume you know him, give him that speech, not me love.”

Sammie’s Son’s Mother Continues Slamming Him After Video Shows Her Dropping Son Off At Cold Doorstep
As Marie continued dragging Sammie, Crystal Renay (formerly Crystal Smith) rushed to the “Come With Me” singer’s defense. She shared videos of Marie dropping off her newborn son on his father’s doorstep. Crystal captioned the post, “OK, so normally I stay out of ALL Internet drama, but this has been my friend since the 6th grade! YOU dropped your newborn son off in 38° weather on his front porch, in the middle of the night and left to go out.. IKYFL! @sammiealways you’re a great Dad. 💙”
Sammie commented, “That’s why I be silent 🤫. Tried to save her. Tried to spare my son. But oops 😬.” Crystal replied, “You know how I get 😑.” He replied with only emojis, “💙🫶🏾♾.” In another two comments, Sammie wrote, “But stands” and ““But l’ve seen my son in Oct, Nov, Dec, but Jan bcz my dad died, saw him in February too although my grandma passed, tired of saving people that’s vile and only wanted the baby bcz they wanted me.”
Marie fired off another post on Threads after the Sammie reposted the videos of her dropping their son off at his doorstep. She wrote:
“On several occasions, I reached out to you for help with your son while I was dealing with postpartum-and still am-and each time, I was met with excuses as to why you couldn’t assist.
Before bringing Legend, I called both you and your father. You knew I was coming, which is why you were standing at the door watching me through the window.
Passing that video to someone to post is, by far, one of the lowest and saddest things my son’s father has ever done to me. Choosing to weaponize my mental health against me-after knowing l have been diagnosed and treated for postpartum depression after having our son-is a level I didn’t even think he would reach.
I truly believed I was bringing my son to a place where he would be safe. I never imagined the delay at the door was because he was being recorded for content. And to the woman who chose to post that video as if you know me-shame on you. As a mother, you should know better.”
