“I’ll let Larry get into the specifics of what happened with that part of the complaint,” Gilbert said during a chat with ABC News, before attorney Larry Stein stepped in to respond.
Stein clarified, “Tim did not give the boys gifts. Melissa gave them gifts.”
He went on to explain the context, noting that the gifts were part of a broader gathering and not directed specifically at the accusers.
According to Stein, “Melissa gave them and every other child at a Christmas party a gift. Every child at the Christmas party. Not treating them special or different than anyone.”

Stein insisted that Busfield was not responsible for their dismissal.
Meanwhile, it was noted that the family of the alleged victims did not provide a response ahead of the interview airing, leaving the claims from Busfield’s side unchallenged at that moment.

After the arrest warrant was issued, Busfield turned himself in and denied the accusations.
