The Real Housewives of Atlanta legend Lee “Big Poppa” Najjar, who was romantically involved with Kim Zolciak during the early days of the show, has died at 68 years old.
While he was never featured on the show, fans who have watched from season one likely recall Kim “thanking” him for getting her a car and talking about him extensively. He was also discussed by other women on the show.
Lee’s daughter, Katelin, confirmed the news via her Instagram Story with a number of photos paying tribute to her father.
She also shared a tribute from her “other half,” who eulogized him.
“It’s so hard to imagine life without Lee, but who he was and what he meant to those who knew and loved him will never leave us,” they wrote. “He had such a profound impact on my life and I feel so fortunate to have shared so many unforgettable moments and life experiences with him and because of him.”
Katelin’s friend went on to share that Lee and Katelin were “incredibly close” and “shared a special bond.”
“He would do anything to make her happy,” they continued, “including putting up with our shenanigans day in and day out for decades.”
They then noted he loved his wife, Kimberly, and “all of his kids so deeply.”
“I’ve heard the story of how he and Kim first met so many times and it never once got old,” they continued. “Not only was Lee a smart businessman, he was genuinely funny. I’m going to miss his one-liners and his sense of humor so much. He was incredibly witty and passed that trait down to Katelin.”
They added, “Over the last few days, Katelin and I have been reminiscing about so many beautiful memories, and I know we’ll continue talking about him and keeping his memory alive forever.”
“Lee Lee,” they concluded, “you will be deeply missed. I know you’re in heaven listening to Amr Diab and eating grape leaves. Please keep the Najjar family in your prayers.”
As fans of the show recall, the storyline surrounding Kim and “Big Poppa” was controversial, due to it being known that he was married at the time of his entanglement with her.
Kim has yet to comment on Lee’s death.
