Streamer HMBL Zay, born Isaiah Thomas, reveals he’s back on the road, resuming his “faith walk” from Philadelphia to California, 5 days after being struck by a car. Despite sustaining a concussion, sprained ankle, and more, the 27-year-old North Philly native also shares he’s not pursuing a lawsuit and chooses to continue his cross-country mission.

As we previously shared, Zay — who embarked on a peace walk in February from Philly to the South (Richmond, Virginia) — started a new journey. On March 26, he shared a post on Instagram announcing his latest missionary-esque trip across the country. He vowed to walk over 3,000 miles in over 100 days with 1 mission. And that’s to “build a trade school for teens” called HMBL University.

On April 28 (Day 34), Zay — who’s been documenting his entire journey on his Twitch stream — made it to Indiana. In a clip cut from his stream and posted to Instagram, Zay announced his arrival. He also shared a photo to his Instagram Story. It featured himself in front of a “Welcome to Indiana” sign on the highway. Over it, he wrote, “Walk from Philly to Cali. Made it 650 miles on foot to Indiana. 2 states down, 7 to go.”

Within four hours of his post, Zay posted a video of him after getting mowed down. Authorities said the incident occurred on Route 40 in Richmond, IN. In the clip, Zay was hit by a dark blue Mazda. It was driven by his friend, trailing him for safety purposes. The Mazda ran into Zay after being rear-ended by another car, a silver Buick, in a chain reaction.

After officials from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrived, Zay was transported to a hospital. There, he found out he had a sprained ankle, bruising, and a concussion. Police said an 82-year-old man was driving the Buick with a minor in the passenger seat.

Five days after the incident and Zay’s hospitalization, he was back on the road, resuming his “faith walk.” On his first day back, he walked 41 miles, a total of 14 hours. He’s since walked over 60 miles. Clipping a moment from his Twitch, Zay said:

“W God. I was in a car accident 5 days ago. A car hit me 5 days ago. They thought it was over. They was laughing. Listen, man, today, I did a record-breaking walk. 41 miles today. Started at 6 in the morning, walked 14 hours. W God, W chat. I got my legs back. I came back better than ever, man. Listen, this is the road from Philadelphia to Cali. Don’t ever, ever, ever give up on yourself. Don’t ever give up on yourself when you got a dream, you got a mission, you got a goal, you gotta protect it, you gotta go get it by any means necessary. Man, let’s get it. Philly to Cali. W chat, W God. We back. We in Indianapolis tomorrow. Man, let’s get it.”

While speaking to his Twitch followers upon his arrival to Indianapolis, Zay said:

“We made it 675 miles to Indianapolis. Listen, man, it’s been tough. Y’all seen I got hit by the car. But, we’re 675 miles in. Another milestone, another major city in Indiana. Indianapolis. 675 miles. God did! On foot, man. This is the walk from Philly to Cali. No matter the trials and tribulations, we’re gonna keep going, man. God blessed me with the legs to be able to walk and be able to move. Listen, man, God is the greatest. I appreciate God, I appreciate the chat. W’s in the chat, man. Indianapolis, we’re here. God did!”
