Denise Richards Opens Up About “Humiliating” Divorce, Says Aaron Refused to Make It Private as She Thanks Fans for Support

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards opened up about her “humiliating and painful” divorce with Aaron Phypers, insisting she wanted it to be “as private as possible.”

After Reality Blurb‘s report about Denise scoring a minor victory due to a judge agreeing to seal documents was shared on Instagram, Denise responded with a comment on our Instagram post about it.

Denise noted the story “popped up” on her feed, which is why she decided to respond in the first place.

“I would have preferred our divorce to be as private as possible,” she shared. “This has been humiliating and painful to go through.”

Denise noted she “offered” to have a “private judge” from the beginning, which not only would have protected her, but also would have protected Aaron from “details surrounding the DV [domestic violence].”

“Most celebrities prefer it,” she added. “My ex wouldn’t do it unless I signed a one-sided NDA & I would have to pay him $250K per breach before he would consider it.”

She explained this was “after he went on a defaming smear campaign” about her.

“Clearly, I didn’t sign it,” she elaborated. “Mostly because he would probably be the ‘source’ breaching the agreement.”

As far as the documents Reality Blurb referenced in their report, Denise said they were filed “months ago” and prior to her court date in February, where she was ordered to pay spousal and legal fees.

“Another hearing had to be set to learn if these could be sealed or not,” she said. “I actually wasn’t expecting them to be, & grateful the judge granted it.”

Denise concluded by noting she’s “grateful to so many of you” who have sent her “a lot” of messages being “incredibly supportive” of her.

After Denise was ordered to pay Aaron spousal support and attorney fees, a report from The California Post said she stated she could not “afford it.”

As those following their nasty split likely recall, Aaron filed for their messy divorce last July. At the time, he said he had no income and was in need of spousal support. He also claimed Denise was earning $250K a month from her OnlyFans account, brand deals, television roles, and other appearances.

Denise also requested spousal support from Aaron, but the judge’s ruling ended up being for her to pay him.

At the current time, their contentious divorce remains ongoing, with no clear end in sight.
