The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards went down on Tuesday night (Oct. 3), and the stars served on the good ol’ green carpet! Naturally, we’re here to highlight some of the standout ‘fits from the evening, so buckle up and put on your fashion critic hat as we run down select stars’ outfits.
Sexyy Red, Coi Leray, & Safaree Samuels Came Thru!
First and foremost, we should note that Sexyy Red ditched her signature spectacles while still rockin’ a stack of cash as an accessory. With her trademark “Big Sexyy” chain, additional jewelry, and a monochromatic lewk, the St. Louis-bred star did her thang!
Humorously taking aim at her stack of cash, Rolling Ray took it upon himself to tag Bank of America and declare, “Can yall please give her a bank account?”
Next up, Coi Leray served BAWDY in her two-piece outfit designed to resemble various vintage mink stoles. The “No More Parties” artist featured shiny hues of pink-purple throughout her get-up, and she topped it off with a blue-colored hairdo.
Speaking of showing skin, Safaree Samuels left the shirt at home and put his abs on full display while on the green carpet.
After peepin’ the images of Safaree, one Roomie going by @_m3kia hilariously proclaimed, “He look like barbecue ribs.”
Ari Fletcher Rocked An Outfit That Yung Miami Recently Donned
Moving to Ms. Ari Fletcher, she was looking fly in a cute black ‘fit accompanied by an ornate clutch and a lil’ side-bayang action. Notably, eagle-eyed fans realized that Yung Miami recently rocked the exact same outfit, prompting conversations on who wore it better.
Similarly, Sukihana rocked a purple dress that Queen Naija recently wore.
Staying on the subject of people seemingly taking inspiration from other stars’ outfits, Maiya The Don channeled Pamela Anderson‘s iconic 1999 MTV Video Music Awards lewk.
As for GloRilla, her get-up was reminiscent of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes‘ 1999 Source Hip Hop Awards ‘fit.
